nigeria National Bureau of Standards (Standard Organization of Nigeria, SON) Nigeria is responsible for the formulation and implementation of the imported goods and create their own product quality standards for government agencies. In order to ensure control products have been implemented in line with the country's technical standards and other international standards to protect the Nigerian consumers from unsafe products or non-compliant product damage, Nigeria National Bureau of Standards decided that the country's export control products Mandatory pre-shipment conformity assessment procedures (hereinafter referred to as SONCAP). 



SONCAP, including two stages. The first phase known as the "Product Certification" (Product Certification), applies only to the initial export to Nigeria of a particular type of product control. Through certification of products available to exporters, "the product certificate" (Product Certificate), the certificate is valid for up to three years. The second phase known as the "Nigerian National Bureau of Standards mandatory conformity assessment procedures for certification" (hereinafter referred to as SONCAP certification), applicable to a number of pre-shipment of goods. SONCAP certificate is in control of Nigeria Customs clearance procedures for the necessary statutory instruments, SONCAP certificate will be caused by a lack of control products that delay or refuse clearance to enter the domestic market in Nigeria. Type: 

Two-step process: 

1, Product Certification: Certification; 

2, SONCAP Certification: SONCAP compulsory certification. 

The first step in the product certification applies only to the initial export to Nigeria of a particular type of product control.
